William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare lived in the late 1500’s and was a famous acter, playwright and a poet. He came from Stratford-Upon-Avon,England, and lived there his whole life. Shakespeare is appointee to be the best playwrighter in the world literature.

William is known for his spectacular work; his epic dramas and poems. His most famous dramas was Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth and Hamlet.

Romeo and Juliet is recongnized by it’s tragic story specific the ending, impossible love and the description of two different noble families in the 1500’s. The story takes place in Verona, north of Italy. They are both young when they fall in love yet their families won’t let Romeo and Juliet see each other (because of class distinction) which makes the couple start sneaking with the love they’re sharing.

Why is Romeo and Juliet a classic drama?

Romeo and Juliet is a classic drama since it’s timeless. A timeless drama, book or song is something you can go back to after hundreds of years and still relate to it. This drama you can relate to since it’s about love. Passionated, endless and impossible love. Love occur in every possible way there’s. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich, poor, young or old because we can’t decide who we’re going to fall in love with. We don’t know why we fall in love, why we fall in love with that specific person. But what we do know, is that we all need it. Everyone needs love and everyone deserves it.

What do you think Shakespeare meant with the famous quote ”To be or not the be”?

Personally I believe he meant to be something or not to be something. To do something with your life or not to do something with your life. To go 100% on something or not to go 100%. We can’t do things in life with only 50% willpower. You must have 100% willpower to accomplish anything in life. Willpower goes hand-in-hand with believing in yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself you won’t make it no matter how hard you try or how many times you try.

I think ”to be or not to be” is a deep quote about life. About the sacrifices you need to make in life to   attain something. To do that or not to do that, that’s the question.

If Shakespeare lived today and created a drama, what do you think it would be about?

William wrote dramatic and realistic dramas with popular subjects which makes me think he would have written about racism since it’s considered as a ”hot” subject. Racism is something we have been trying to defeat hundreds of years with the conclusion that we’re far from finished. Sometimes it feels like we will never win over racism, but we will, and that’s why it’s such an important subject. We should never give up on the human rights. Shakespeare only wrote about the important things in life; about love, power and the will to do anything for the people we love. That’s why I believe William would have written about racism; because it’s so damn important.
